Basically there are two groups of age correction methods:

1. Aging-correction methods aimed at correcting the effects of aging;
2. Aging-correction methods aimed at blocking the causes of aging.

The first group includes mainly lifting and modeling lost or altered tissue volumes. These procedures are very popular among cosmetologists and their patients. They may be either invasive or non-invasive. What unites them is that they do not affect the structure of the tissue. As a result the effect from such procedures does not last long.

This group of age correction methods also includes imposing implants: hyaluronic acid implants, collagen implants and trade-lifting. Unfortunately, these procedures do not affect the structure of the skin, so they are not exactly fighting against skin aging.

The second group of methods directly affects the causes of aging. Those methods have a strong antioxidant effect, improve the regeneration, microcirculation and metabolism. With age, the ratio of hormone changes. This leads to decrease of metabolic processes in the body. There are cosmetic treatments that restore the lost balance. These treatments have anti-aging effects objectively at the epidermis level and they work successfully on the epidermis. However, increasing the amount of lipids in the skin, leads not only to recovery of the mantle and membranes, but also to increase of bio-oxidable oils in the skin, which runs one of the basic mechanisms of aging

To yield the real anti-ageing effect it's extremely important to work on several levels simultaniously. it is important to cross the epidermis and deliver active ingredients to the lower layer of the skin, the dermis, as this is exactly where wrinkle-causing processes take place. The main cell type of the dermis, fibroblasts produce the structural proteins collagen and elastin as well as hyaluronic acid, which are extremely important giving skin volume and making it look healthy and smooth. With time fibroblasts age, produce less structural proteins, making skin age and wrinkles appear. So it’s no wonder that keeping and replacing them is the main concern of many anti-ageing skincare product lines or treatments.
